Warm up your winter with these 4 ideas

It’s easy to get stuck inside during the winter months, when your main concerns are staying warm and avoiding the flu! We’ve compiled a month’s worth of adventures to lift your spirits and get you outside of the house. Here you go all the best things to do in June in Sydney, stay warm!

Vivid Sydney

Kicking off in the end of May, Vivid is lighting up Sydney until the middle of June, so you have plenty of time to enjoy this annual multi-award-winning festival of light. Vivid Sydney is not just a light show though, it also has an extensive program of music performances featuring FKA twigs and RÜFÜS DU SOL and intellectual talks on topics such as ‘A healthy future, using tech to fight loneliness and improve health’ and ‘The future of the world, what will happen by 2040?’

Enjoy 17 days of real winter fun in the grounds of Prince Alfred Square, Parramatta. Test your skating skills on the biggest open-air rink in Sydney, enjoy a snow fight with real snow or if you are feeling adventurous slide down the 28 metre ice slide. Try a range of European-inspired winter fare food like The Soupman, Turkish Gozleme, German hot dogs, YouPizza and our personal favourite Adora Handmade Chocolates and Dutch Poffertjes.

Hot Yoga

Sweat it out in one of the numerous yoga studios in Parramatta. Stretch your muscles in the toasty rooms at Hot Yoga Parramatta. Or master your practice at Bikram Yoga right near Parramatta train station. Wherever you choose, you’ll be guaranteed to stay warm in a room that matches your body temperature.

Inaugural Matsuri Japan Festival

Join the annual celebration of Japanese heritage and friendship between Japanese and Australian people on Sunday 9 of June in Centenary Square. Get a taste of Japanese cuisine, attend various cultural workshops where you can learn calligraphy, participate in a traditional tea ceremony and master the art of Origami.
