Welcome to the 48th Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival, one of the world’s most iconic LGBTQIA+ celebrations. Running from 13 February to 1 March 2026, Mardi Gras takes over Sydney with parades, parties, performances and community events that span the city from sunrise to long after dark.
The 2026 theme, Ecstatica, is a celebration of euphoric rebellion – a collision of glamour, grit and raw joy that comes alive when people come together. From the Progress Pride Flag Raising at Sydney Town Hall to Fair Day in Victoria Park, pool parties, gala events, comedy shows and the legendary Parade, Mardi Gras is a full-bodied expression of pride, freedom and creative defiance. It’s colourful, chaotic, emotional and unapologetically joyful.
